Kendal Amateur Athletic Club

Kendal Amateur Athletic Club

Founded in 1949, we are a small friendly, voluntary-run club based in the market town of Kendal in South Cumbria on the edge of the Lake District. We are proud to hold Sport England’s Clubmark Accreditation, a kitemark of quality for the way the club is run with particular reference to juniors.

We participate in track & field, fell, cross country and road running, including relays, from local events to national championships, also including county and regional championships and events. We promote and organise various events for both juniors and adults, beginners to seasoned athletes and offer opportunities for training to become a coach and/or athletics official. We cater for beginners and successful athletes alike and offer coaching in all disciplines.

All ages and ability are welcome and if your talent is in the administrative side of the club, there are opportunities for volunteers there too.

  1. Hi,
I am moving home to Kendal in August and looking for a running club, for fell running in particular.
What’s the best way for me to come and check out Kendal AAC?
    Thanks

  2. Hi Greg. Club Training night in Summer is Tuesdays at Queen Katherine School.
We have a facebook group ‘Kendal AC Training Group’, non-members can join, there you’ll see what we get up to.
The Wednesday night Summer Fell runs are on the Fell page of the Web site.

  4. Hi Angela
    Winter training for Juniors is…

Mondays 6:30 – 7:30, Endmoor Village Hall, No charge
    Coach Steve Priestley (Juniors)

    Tuesdays 6.00 – 7.00, The Queen Katherine School, £2
    Coach Steve Priestley (Juniors)

Communication for members is usually via Facebook.

I suggest you contact Steve Priestley beforehand so he can expect you (07502 575614 or 015395 67449 or priestleyjohn@sky.com).

You can ‘try’ the club for a few weeks before joining.

  5. Hi, what day and time do the track and field sessions for juniors take place please. I have 2 boys in Yr 4 (8-9years) and year 7 (11-12 years) who’d be interested. How do we participate?
