Kendal 10K: Wednesday 29 April
Registration: Kendal Leisure Centre, LA9 7HX
Start: Beginning of the road to Natland, about 200m from Kendal Leisure Centre
Route: The race route offers a picturesque and challenging course through the countryside surrounding Kendal, winding along minor roads through the villages of Natland and Sedgwick. Runners will pass Crosscrake Church, with a left turn, it retraces the outward path back to Kendal. As runners approach the finish line, they’ll be treated to breathtaking views of Scout Scar and the majestic Lakeland Fells in all their glory.
Levens 10K: Wednesday 20 May
Registration: Levens Village Institute, LA9 8NL
Start: Near Levens Village Institute
Route: The low-lying, flat area was flooded in 2015 after Storm Desmond. Brigsteer and Levens are on an upland leading to Scout Scar, overlooking Kendal. This is a race of two halves. Runners will start at Levens Village Institute with an undulating uphill through Brigsteer Woods, downhill through Brigsteer Village, sharp left with a steep hill. The route then changes to a fast and flat for 3 miles with long straights. Runners come off the valley into Levens, turn left at the Hare and Hounds, and climb 600m to the finish.
Hawkshead 10K: Wednesday 10 June
Registration: Hawkshead Market Hall, LA22 0NZ
Start: The start is at the north end of the village just before the junction with the road to Ambleside and the finish is on the B5285 from Far Sawrey as it nears Hawkshead.
Route: The undulating course follows an anticlockwise route around the beautiful Esthwaite Water, brushing past Near Sawrey and Hill Top, the home of Beatrix Potter. After the race, enjoy a delicious pie and peas meal with pickled red cabbage and beetroot (or a vegetarian option) in the charming Hawkshead Square, making it a fantastic social occasion.
Endmoor 10K: Wednesday 24 June
Registration: Endmoor Village Hall, LA8 0HQ
Start: Close to Endmoor Village Hall
This fantastic race features a steep two-mile uphill section near the start, winding around corners. At the top, runners are rewarded with spectacular views. The course then undulates for a couple miles before descending back into Endmoor.
After the race, join us at the village hall for a social occasion, where coffee, tea, and cakes are offered to all athletes, making it a perfect way to unwind and celebrate your achievement.
